2013年暑期，美国密西根州议会、法院及政府面向联合举办“2013赴美法院暑期实习项目”，项目包括课程学习、参访、实习、游览等。该项目已在中国成功举办数年。日前，该项目报名工作现已启动，具体通知如下： 

    一、项目时间

2013年暑期7月15日左右。

往返总计19天。

二、费用 

1. 项目费2760美元，包含：课程费、食宿（寄宿家庭）、市内交通、高尔夫培训、游艇及项目内游览门票。
    2. 其他：机票、签证费、保险费、银行汇款手续费及汇率差价、个人消费等自理。

三、课程内容

 参见第三页的英文课程内容介绍。

四、证书颁发

 项目结束后，学生可获得美方颁发的项目结业证书（实习证书）。 

五、报名条件

    1.学校本科生、硕士生;

2.有较好的英语水平，能够流利交流。需提供相关英文测试证明（例如，等级考试，雅思，或托福等）。

    八、项目特色 

    1.法官授课：主要授课人由密西根州最高法院大法官、密西根州地方法院和巡回法院法官担任。学生可深入了解美国司法体系，获得难得的与资深法官们面对面交流的机会。  

    2.法院实习：学生将在地方法院和巡回法院实习，实习结束后获得法院颁发的实习证书。  

    3.St.Clair湖畔挥杆：学生将在密西根州St.Clair湖畔向资深教练学打高尔夫球。项目提供所需所有器材及装备。  

    4.游艇游大湖：在美国密歇根州大湖区乘游艇领略大湖风光；  

    5.住宿美国家庭：此项目亮点之一，即部分住宿方式非酒店住宿，而是home stay。学生可在普通美国家庭里居住一周，近距离接触美国百姓，迅速提高英语语言能力并了解美国文化。  

    6.访问密歇根大学：密歇根大学安娜堡分校是美国顶尖大学，其法学院历年排名均进入前八强。项目将邀请密大法学院教授授课。 

7.到华盛顿特区访问美国国会：参观美国国会，并将获得与议员及其主要工作人员面对面交流座谈的难得机会。

Welcome lunch/dinner with host families, a local family who have agreed to have international students stay one week

Go home with host families

Sunday, Day 2

Host Family Day (Stay with host family)

Students have a fun-filled day doing activities with their host families

Monday, Day 3

Culture Day (Stay with host family)

Tour Henry Ford Museum, a museum celebrating American inventors and innovation

Lunch at a Middle Eastern restaurant

Ford Rogue Factory Tour, a working automobile plant, and observe the building of Ford F-150 trucks

Tuesday, Day 4

Introduction to the Michigan Court System & Federal Court System (Stay with host family)

Program introduction by MCEP Board Secretary, Ed Bruley

Welcome to Oakland University, where students will have classes

Introduction to Michigan and federal court system by University Professors

Visit local district court, which handles misdemeanors, traffic fines, small claims, etc

Watch arraignments at the district court

Tour district courthouse

Question & Answer session with a district court judge

Wednesday, Day 5

Circuit Court System Day (Stay with host family)

Visit Circuit Court, which hears both civil and criminal cases, as well as appeals from other courts

Tour jury rooms and learn about jury selection process

Learn about circuit courts by use of role-play exercise

Visit small law firm and meet with attorneys, learning about day-to-day practice

Go to a driving range for golf practice and instruction

Thursday, Day 6

State Appeals and Supreme Court Day (Stay with host family)

Visit United States Federal District Court

Watch motion hearings

Meet with a US Federal District Court judge

Tour courtrooms and attend presentation by U.S. Marshal’s office

Visit Michigan Court of Appeals

Attend lecture and discussion with Michigan Court of Appeals judge

Friday, Day 7

Federal Court System Day (Stay with host family)

Visit Detroit Institute of Arts, a world-renowned art museum and home to Diego Rivera's world famous Detroit Industry frescos

Visit U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan

Lecture on roles and functions of the federal legal system

Saturday, Day 8

Host Family Day (Stay with host family)

Students have a fun-filled day doing activities with their host families

Sunday, Day 9

Host Family Day (Stay at hotel)

Students have a fun-filled day doing activities with their host families (last day with host families)

Check into hotel for the remainder of the nights in Michigan

Monday, Day 10

Internship Day (Stay at hotel)

Court Internships – students will be in the courtroom of a Circuit or District Court judge, in groups of two, learning firsthand the court processes

Picnic at Lake St. Clair Metropark and boating on Lake St. Clair

Tuesday, Day 11

Internship Day (Stay at hotel)
